In case you didn't know, The Elk is destined to be your new favorite café. Located in New York City's West Village, this quaint shop will have you falling in love while simultaneously filling up your Instagram feed. With flawless interior design and delicious bites populating the menu, it's the perfect place to grab brunch with a friend—or to simply sit down for a cup and feel inspired to conquer the world.
The brainchild of Claire Chan—a Canadian native—you definitely feel the Pacific Northwestern vibes as you cross the threshold. The cafe holds an earthy feel with it's minimal wooden and brick design. The Elk represents community and a simple lifestyle as they also sell home-goods from local vendors, ranging from independent magazines to candles and soaps.
With food made by Top Chef Sam Talbot, you'll be longing to come back before you've even left. The Elk has a daily menu from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., where both breakfast and lunch is served. After 4, you can grab drinks and on-the-run goodies like pastries and cookies from Ovenly. The food at the Elk is high quality and healthy so you can take your pick from the greek yogurt bowl with seasonal preserves and almond-coconut crumble or opt for a cage-free egg, kale, and cheddar breakfast sandwich. No matter your choice, you'll leave feeling satisfied.
Whether you call New York City home, or you're just in town for the weekend, The Elk should definitely be on your to-do list.
